Abstract:

The objective of the paper is to analyze level of efficiency and effectiveness in financing local investments from external resources and to suggest how both of them could be improved. It was analyzed how the financial capacity of local governments in relation to economic and technical efficiency of financing local investments from external resources. Two specially designed indicators of investment effectivness were developed. Examples of implementation of the developed indicators for select local governments were presented to demonstrate how these indicators function.
