Abstract:

Two examples of application of the monitoring are presented to show thai monitoring systems and especially the automatic ones are naw days irreplaceable while solving problems appearing in the environmental engineering. In the first case a monitoring system is a component of a computer aided decisions system for control of a wastewater treatment plant; in the second case the monitoring helps by the management of a communal water network. These both important tasks of the ecological research could be solved only with the help of data obtained from various monitoring systems.
