Both the activities of ectoenzymes andrates of organic substrates uptake by bacteria were strongly inhibited by studied metal ions,even in their low concentrations. Three types of inhibition; competitive (aminopeptidase), noncompetitive (lipase) and mixed (alkaline phosphatase) due to Pb^"^ and Cd^"^ were observed.
