Subtitle:The Anther Culture of Gramineae - current status and perspectives
Creator: Publisher:Committee on Biotechnology PAS ; Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS
Date issued/created: Subject and Keywords: Abstract:It has been realized that haploid production through in vitro anther culture could lead to rapid development of homozygous structures which might have application in the development of new and improvedcultivars. Diploid pure lines obtained by androgenesis method can be used in conventional breedingprograms. This will shorten the time for cultivar development. Some aspects relating to Gramineae anther culture have been covered in this paper. The current statusof the methodology of pollen embryogenesis and the many factors affecting this process have beenreviwed.
