She was an outstanding scholar, educational historian, educator of many generations of educators and educational researchers, and organizer of academic life. She began her academic career at the Department for the History of Education of the Polish Academy of Sciences, but then was primarily linked with the Faculty of Pedagogy at the University of Warsaw. She completed her education there and established subsequent stages of her professional career – teaching, research, and organizational alike. Later on, she earned subsequent academic degrees, served as Dean and Vice-Dean of the Faculty, and also served as Head of the Department for the History of Education and Upbringing and the Department for the History of Education and Upbringing. Outside of Warsaw, from 1994 to 2008, she served as Vice-Rector of the Aleksander Gieysztor Academy of Humanities in Pultusk. Her research focused on the history of education. She primarily researched education during the Enlightenment, the time of the Commission of National Education (1773–1794).
