 abstract={This article presents the mechanism of the pharmacy privatisation and reprivatisation processes that took place in Poland from 1988 onwards, based on documentation from the audit of this process conducted by the Supreme Audit Office (Najwyższa Izba Kontroli, NIK) at the Pharmaceutical Supply Enterprise ‘Cefarm’ in Warsaw. The paper discusses the course of the privatisation process, its costs, the Supreme Audit Office’s post-audit recommendations, and responses to those recommendations. The source basis of this article consists of preserved documents, protocols, and correspondence related to the audit, held in the State Archives in Warsaw. These materials made it possible to answer the question of what the mechanism of the pharmacy privatisation process in Poland was and how it affected the course of pharmacy reprivatisation.},
