The supporters of the moratorium presented the indebtedness of landed estates as the result of heavy sacrifices made by the landed nobility for national purposes and war damage in the period of the Duchy of Warsaw. The image of generous landlords was set against that of egoistic capitalists seeking to takeover landed estates. Supporters and opponents of the temporary moratorium on debt payments appealed to different concepts of the national community and ideals of citizenship and differently presented the political role of various social groups.}, type={Text}, title={Ziemiańskie długi a wspólnota narodowa : spór o moratorium dla dłużników w Królestwie Polskim w latach 1815–1825}, URL={http://rcin.org.pl/ihpan/Content/151946/PDF/WA303_187168_A52-KH-R-127-3_Mycielski.pdf}, volume={127}, number={3}, journal={Kwartalnik Historyczny}, publisher={Instytut Historii PAN}, keywords={nation - in literature, nation - in press, nationality - in literature, citizenship - in literature, citizenship - in press, debt - Poland - history - 19th c., land tenure - Poland - history - 19th c., mortgage loans - Poland - history - 19th c., conservatism - Poland - history - 19th c., Poland, Sejm, 1818, Poland, Sejm, 1820, 1818 and 1820 Sejms of the Kingdom of Poland, indebtedness of land edestates, images of the national community, conservative thought}, }
