 abstract={The Polish post-war independence underground has become one of the most important research topics of the Polish historiography. It is worth taking a closer look at it, going beyond the history of politics and factual developments. For this purpose, it is necessary to refer to the scientific methodology consciously. This makes it possible to outline the laws that have governed the historiography of this topic to date, identify selected persuasive arguments, point to overlooked determinants of the situation at the time, and scour for research questions in interdisciplinarity. The text also draws attention to selected topics that would be worth elaborating on and signals ethical and historical policy issues.},
