 abstract={The article’s main objective is to present the course of the conflict in the Orthodox parish at Siemiatycze between 1986 and 1988. In the context of social changes occurring in Poland, a conflict arose between the Orthodox Church hierarchy, parish clergy, and the Office for Religious Affairs. The interference of the authorities only exacerbated the conflict. It is not clear from the surviving documents what caused the dispute to be resolved in the spring of 1988. Perhaps it was some action from the Office for Religious Affairs. However, this thesis needs to be confirmed by archival documents.},
