 abstract={The central part of the article is an edition of two letters written by Tomasz Treter to the Bishop of Warmia, Szymon Rudnicki. These letters are note-worthy as a contribution to the history of the book in Warmia, because these letters are Treter’s intercession on behalf of booksellers and bookbinders from Braniewo. The letters reveal the behind-the-scenes mechanisms of regulating the book trade in Warmia; they show that in this region the interests of local booksellers and merchants coming from larger centres clashed; they mention the types of publications whose sale was most profitable.},
