There is a detailed analysis of the time, place and manner in which the source was created, together with its comparison with a fragment of the king’s Mémoirs, spanning the same period of time. The Entretiens made a chronological and factual frame for the king’s Mémoirs, and for this reason they could be used to assess the reliability of Stanislaus Augustus’ memoirs. The discovery of an unknown so far clean copy of the Entretiens among the materials repossessed from Russia induces us to look in Russian archives for other tomes of the Entretiens, which the king had to have with him in Saint Petersburg, when he was working on successive volumes of his memoirs.}, type={Text}, title={„Entretiens” Stanisława Augusta z ambasadorem rosyjskim Ottonem Magnusem von Stackelbergiem i „Mémoires” ostatniego króla Rzeczypospolitej}, URL={http://rcin.org.pl/ihpan/Content/71700/PDF/WA303_93706_B88-SZ-56-2018_Zielinska.pdf}, keywords={Poland - 1764-1795 (Stanisław August Poniatowski) - sources, Stackelberg, Otto Magnus (1736-1800) - and Poland - sources, Russia - relations - Poland - 18th c., Poland - relations - Russia - 18th c.}, }
