Abstract:
The Second World War proved to be a watershed moment for the fate of the Promethean movement. After 1945, despite political marginalisation, Prometheists continued their efforts to build an anti-Soviet front. The article examines the reasons why Prometheism, contrary to the dominant narrative in Anglo-Saxon historiography, failed to find a place in mainstream Western anti-communism. It analyzes the failure of the revival of Prometheism and its gradual transformation into new forms of anti-communist struggle in the realities of the Cold War.
