 abstract={The author performed lymphographic studies on 'lower limbs in 16 patients with postthrombophlebitic syndromes. In 2/3 of cases he found changes in the lymphatic vessels favouring stasis of the lymph. The vessels were obstructed at some places, at other places they showed varicose dilatations, usually with incompetent valves. The changes affected also the lymphytic vessels of the skin with trophic disturbances. Probably stasis of the lymph plays .a role in the development of crural ulceration.},
