Photography (scan from a slide). The image shows two metal plates prepared by the girls with food and water. They fill a dozen earthen vessels with grain. Food and water are the sacrifice that they made. It is a fragment of rite sanjhi done by unmarried girls. For a few days in the month (the dark side of the lunar month just before the start of the monsoon rainy season) stick all kinds of patterns and images on the walls of houses, and on the last day they carry earthen
