Description:

Photography (scan from a slide). The image shows two metal plates with food and water prepared by the girls. You can see 18 dishes with grain. Food and water are a sacrifice which must be given. It is a fragment of sanjhi rite done by unmarried girls. For a few days a month (the dark side of the lunar month just before the monsoon rainy season)they stick various patterns and images on the walls of houses, and the last day they carry clay images and sacrifice of food and on the banks of the river and throwing them into the water
