Abstract:

Technical requirements and conditions for plant cell cultures are described. Stirred tank reactors andairlift reactors are most useful for the plant cell cultivation. The biology of plant, animal and microbial cellsand their growth characteristics in bioreactors are discussed, industrial examples of plant cell culturesused for the biosynthesis of secondary products are presented.
