W pracy wykorzystano niepublikowane dane z badań prowadzonych w latach 1984-1998 w ramach tematów zleconych przez OZLP w Zielonej Górze oraz tematu statutowego nr 08 ID PAN.
Wyprawa botaniczna prof. Kazimierza Browicz na grecką wyspę Poros w dniach od 3 do 25 maja 1997 roku. Badacz stwierdził obecność 61 gatunków drzew i krzewów. Środkowa i południowa części wyspy pokryta jest lasami sosnowymi (Pinus halepensis Mill.), a zbiorowiska makii i frygany spotkać można jedynie wzdłuż dróg i na obrzeżach lasów. Wspomniane zbiorowiska można spotkać częściej na północy wyspy, gdzie występuje Juniperus phoenicea L. Badacz opracowal także listę taksonów uprawianych na wyspie.
