The subject of this article is the school of the Department of Pages established by King Stanislaw August (1764–1795) in Warsaw. This institution has not yet received the attention of researchers and is not noted in the studies devoted to the history of education in Poland. The article outlines its history and presents a number of new findings. Their first group indicates the time scope of school establishment, its functioning and material background. The second identifies teachers and the subjects they taught. The third part deals with the students. Their number and career paths are indicated, and some details of their daily lives are outlined. The final part of the text deals with the question of the school’s purpose, placing particular emphasis on its connections with the Warsaw School of Chivalry.
