The monthly Kultura (Culture) published by Jerzy Giedroyc in France presented texts not only on Polish emigration, but also on the Polish People’s Republic and its political relations within the framework of the Warsaw Pact and Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (COMECON). A letter written by Giedroyc to the journalist Maciej Kozłowski on 22 March 1969 reveals which subjects and Polish-Czechoslovak issues were interesting for the editors of Kultura. Giedroyc wanted not only to describe the socio-economic reality of states belonging to the socialist bloc, but also to influence it and to fulfil his anti-communist political ideas. A tool for realisation of these ideas in Czechoslovakia was his associate Kozłowski and several other citizens of Czechoslovakia.
