  1. I cannot open the content of the publication. The system repeats the login command - although I am logged in.

Setting up an account does not guarantee providing access to the item. Certain items - due to the need to comply with the Copyright Act - are not available to the public until their creators obtain a license to make these items available on the Internet.

Elements of description: "Rights" and "Terms of use" inform about the possible way of access to such publications, e. g .:

Rights:

Rights reserved - restricted access

Terms of use:

Copyrighted resource. Use allowed only at premises of the Institute ... XYZ ... to the extent specified by the provisions of fair use.

In such case, setting up reader's account and logging in will not make the document available. This item is accessible only from computers located at the premises of specified institution, co-creating the RCIN.

  1. I forgot my account password

Procedure for recovering forgotten login/password is as follows:

  • In the login mode below the "Cancel" and "Log in" buttons is the "Forgot your password?" link.
  • After clicking this link, select "Email" and enter Your email address in the box.
  • Instructions for resetting the password will be sent to the email address provided.

 

  1. Do I have to set up an account to use the Repository?

Most items are publicly available and it is not required to set up an account to use them.

However, some documents, due to the need to comply with the Copyright Act, are not available to the public until publishers obtain a license to publish them on the Internet. Setting up an account does not provide access to them. Such documents are available only on specified computers operating within the local network of the RCIN Institute, which stores original item.

  1. What is the benefit of setting up an account on the RCIN website?

Every visitor can independently set up an individual account at the Repository, allowing for:

- creating own list of favorite items;

- exporting this list to a file;

- subscribing to the list of newly added publications at the Repository daily or weekly.

Having an account at the Repository DOES NOT provide access to all items.

Certain publications - due to the need to comply with copyrights - are available only at the premises of the Institute, which digitized this object. This is indicated by the inscription on the thumbnail of the given item and the content of the "Terms of use" element in its description.

  1. Is there a possibility to add your own publications to the RCIN repository?

If you are an employee of one of the Institutes co-creating the RCIN click here, there is a possibility to upload a publication by sending it to assigned RCIN worker at given Institute with a request for publishing at the Repository. 

  1. Are articles added to the RCIN searched by Google.Scholar?

Yes, all RCIN publications are searched by Google Scholar. In addition, by means of implementing advanced IT solutions, they are searchable, e.g. in the worldwide online catalog WorldCat, at the European repository Europeana, German Database or the largest Chinese licensed database of scientific resources. Data concerning newly published articles, if granted, are also downloaded and placed in other databases, e.g. the Elsevier publishing house (Web of Science, SCOPUS databases).
