Abstrakt:

Histological diagnosis: Anoxia.Autopsy examination of 6-month-old infant was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin, cresyl-violet, Heidenhain and Holzer method.No characteristic syndrome was identified. No systemic damage was noted. Features of hypoxia, possibly non-specific inflammatory irritation accompanying purulent pulmonary disease, and minor features of hypoplasia were seen. The basic anatomical features were normal. There was no systemic depletion, although numerous neurons were damaged nonspecifically. The vessels had relatively thick, homogeneous walls, sometimes with a few to several lymphocytic cells within them. There were severely dilated perivascular spaces in all vessels. The subependymal glia was stimulated, also in the white matter glial proliferation and hypertrophic forms were observed - possibly as a reaction to edema. In addition, clusters of fetal subependymal glia were seen. A granular fetal layer was present in the cerebellum
