Clinical, anatomical and histological diagnosis

Abstract:

Histological diagnosis: Vascular diseases , encephalomacia. Autopsy examination of 64-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with H-E, PAS and Van Gieson's method.The specimen from frontal lobe showed an extensive area of necrosis, without infiltrates or macrophage reaction. There were numerous small hemorrhagic foci in the bridge. The meninges were thickened and fibrotic, the vessels were mostly thin-walledHistological diagnosis: Focus encephalomalaciae recens diffusus hemisphaerii cerebri sin. Foci haemorrhagici multiplices pontis.
