Clinical, anatomical and histological diagnosis
Histological diagnosis: Laesiemes cellulares dispersae - Putrefactio. Autopsy examination of 3-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained by Cresyl violet, Heidenhain and Van Gieson's stain.Throughout the nervous system, nerve cells showed severe damage and vacuolation. In the white matter, signs of perivascular leakage with few residual blood pigment were observed. The extent of the above lesions and their topography cannot be assessed due to coexisting putrefaction.
