Plethysmopgraphic investigations of lower extremities were carried out in patients with occlusion of the superficial femoral artery, before and after implantation of the by-pass vascular graft. Rest blood flow through the shin did not differ from hat in healthy persons. Yet after effort blood flow was about 3 times decreased in comparison with normal values. After implantation of by-pass graft, rest blood flow increased 2—5 times and lasted on this high level for some weeks. Blood flow after effort showed raise about 80°/o, but never reached the values noted in healthy persons. Measurements of arterial blood pressure over talocrural articulation, carried out in early postoperative period allowed to evalue the patency of grafts.
