Object description:

Próbki surowca z koplani krzemienia w Spiennes. Kopalnia został odkryta w 1867 r. Pozostałości prehistorycznych szybów i podziemnych chodników datowane są na młodsze epoki kamienia (neolit). Kompleks górniczy składa się z dwóch wyniesięń wysoczyznowych – wschodnie Camp-à-Cayaux i zachodnie Petit-Spiennes, rozdzielone rzeką Trouille. Kompleks ten można podzielić na trzy rejony prehistorycznej działalności górniczej: to Camp-à-Cayaux, Petit-Spiennes i Versant de La Wampe
