Krzemień ten występuje w osadach górnojurajskich Gór Świętokrzyskich. Najważniejsze punkty eksploatacji i wychodnie tego surowca znajdują się w ich północno-wschodnim obrzeżeniu permo-mezozoicznym, w paśmie ciągnącym się od Iłży do Zawichostu (Król and Migaszewski 2009: 19; por. Krajcarz et al., 2014)
