Abstract:

W artykule przedstawiam pokrótce debatę pomiędzy uniwersalistami i relatywistami dotyczącą praw człowieka. Omawiam szczególnie podejście praktyki kulturowej, które uważam za adekwatne do analizowania relacji władzy i wiedzy, a przez to użyteczne dla antropologów. Twierdzę także, że to podejście może (i powinno) być stosowane podczas badań terenowych. Wskazuję na kilka przykładów z moich badań w i o organizacjach pozarządowych zajmujących się prawami kobiet w Delhi, aby przedstawić w jaki sposób równouprawnienie prawa kobiet i mężczyzn jest konstruowane i negocjowane w potocznym rozumieniu
