Title: Pomaks of the Western Rhodopes (Bulgaria) : between ‘adat’ and ‘pure’ Islam

Abstract:

Artykuł jest próbą opartej na badaniach etnograficznych refleksji na temat dwóch typów islamu praktykowanego przez bułgarskojęzycznych muzułmanów (Pomaków) mieszkających w Rodopach Zachodnich w Bułgarii: „islamu adatowego" i „czystego islamu". Skontrastowanie tych typów pozwala uchwycić przemiany w życiu religijnym bułgarskojęzycznych muzułmanów, odchodzących od lokalnej tradycyjnej religijności na rzecz wzorców inkorporowanych z zewnątrz, m.in. z Arabii Saudyjskiej. Zarazem wskazuje, że jest to proces wielowymiarowy i trudny do jednoznacznej interpretacji
