Abstrakt:

Artykuł porządkuje i systematyzuje niektóre aspekty współdziałania transportu i turystyki. Po pierwsze, omawia i komentuje pięć ról jakie odgrywa transport we współczesnej turystyce według D. Halla (2008), tj.: (1) łączenie obszaru źródłowego z miejscem docelowym; (2) zapewnienie mobilności i dostępu w obrębie obszaru/regionu/kraju destynacji; (3) zapewnienie mobilności i dostępu w obrębie atrakcji turystycznej; (4) umożliwienie doświadczenia turystycznego dzięki podróży wzdłuż szlaku rekreacyjnego oraz (5) oddziaływanie jako centrum zainteresowania rekreacyjnego lub historycznego. W dalszej części artykuł przedstawia sposoby transportu w turystyce i rekreacji w podziale na transport lotniczy, wodny i lądowy. Każdy z wspomnianych sposobów odznacza się swoistą specyfiką, ma różne uwarunkowania, zalety i niedogodności, pełni różnorodne funkcje i cele, jest skierowany do różnych grup turystów. Światowe prawidłowości obserwowane w turystyce i rekreacji nie zawsze są zgodne z sytuacją w Polsce.
