Description:

The photo shows a group of nineteen people posing for the photo against a background of a wooden building with its entrance decorated by spruce branches. There is a brick/stone building adjacent to the wooden one. The wedding guests are posing for the photo in three rows: in the first there are five kneeling children and one standing girl, in the second the young couple is sitting and in the third there stand eight people , one of them holding an accordion. The bride is wearing a dark-coloured dress with a white veil and the groom a dark-coloured suit, a white shirt and a bow-tie ; According to the owner of the photo, it was taken in August 1937 and shows the wedding of his mother’s brother, Augustyn (...), and Anna (...). The photo was taken in the villiage of Domatowo (in the Darżlubie Forest), currently in the gmina of Leśniewo, Mechowo parish ; August 1937, Domatowo, Leśniewo commune, Mechowo parish, kujawsko-pomorskie voivodeship ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
