Description:

The photo depicts a large group of people leaving a big church and going down grand stairs. According to the photo’s owner, it depicts people from the village of Wzdół Rządowy, Bodzentyn commune (Kilece district) going out from the local church after a Sunday service. The photo was taken by its owner in the summer of 1946. There is an inscription at the back saying: “People from the village of Wzdół-Rządowy are coming back from the church” ; summer 1946, Wzdół-Rządowy, com. Bodzentyn, district Kielecki ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
