Description:

The photo shows a multigenerational family with children. In the first row four children are sitting (three girls of ages ranging from four to twelve and a boy in a sout uniform), in the second three women and in the third there stand, from the left, a boy in a scout uniform holding a violin, a man, a woman and a man holding a baby in his arms ; According to the owner of the photo, it was taken in front of his grandparents’ house in Gromadka in 1947. His mother is sitting in the first row, the second from the left, next to her brother Walenty. The two girls next to them are aunt Aniela’s friend’s children. In the second row there sit the grandmother, aunt Aniela’s friend and an eldrely woman. The boy with the violin is a friend of the uncle’s. He is standing next to an elderly man with a mustauche. The uncle’s mother’s sister Janina (...) is standing next to her husband who is holding their baby. The two oldest people on the photo are (judging by other photos from the same donor) the grandfather’s sister Andzia (...) and her husband ; 1947, Gromadka ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
