Opis:
The photo shows wedding guests and a young couple. Everyone is dressed in festive clothes: women in ornate dresses and men in suits with ties or bow-ties. The bride is dressed in a long white dress with a veil. The groom is standing on her left. He is wearing a white shirt, a double-breasted black jacket and trousers. From the few children visible on the photo a small girl in a folk costume stands out ; According to the owner of the photo, it was taken in May 1925 and shows a young couple and wedding guests. The wedding took place in the village of Żukowo (Gdańsk Voivodeship).The young couple are his relatives- the (...), who were later known for becoming the grandparents of the Gdańsk quintuplets born in 1971 (Agnieszka, Ewa, Adam, Piotr and Roman (...). The man sitting in the first row is the groom’s (i.e. Leon (...)’s) father ; May 1925, village Żukowo, gdańskie voivodeship ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
