The photo shows a priest. The man is wearing a cassock and a white surplice with embroidered sleeves and lower part of the robes. On it he has a cape (most probably purple) fastened by one button below the throat. The man has a biretta with a pompon on his head (probably also purple). The canon is posing for the photo on some steps against a background of a white wall and part of a door ; According to the owner of the photo it pictures the appointment as canon of Rev. (...) from Ślesin in the Bydgoszcz Voivodeship ; 1946, Ślesin, bydgoskie voivodeship ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
